National schools equestrian association was formed in 1991 to co-ordinate inter-school competitions and also to promote riding in state and independent schools.

Since then, there has been a huge surge in popularity.

An increasing number of pupils are now riding in curricular time.

Riding has been included as a games option in many schools. GCSE and A level PE have riding options.
It is also possible to ride on the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Many schools also offer BHS / Pony Club Exams, in conjunction with their local governing body.

Schools have also recognized that riding can play an important role in the physical & emotional development of pupils of all ages, and are beginning to realize the time & commitment that it takes.

AS OF THE 1ST AUGUST 2009 ALL SCHOOLS MUST JOIN THE NSEA IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN ANY COMPETITIONS LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE.
MEMBERSHIP STARTS 1ST AUGUST 2009.
IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO AFFLIATE FROM MID JUNE. ALL INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE SHORTLY.
