NSEA Membership Rules
. Schools must be members of the NSEA in order that their pupils may compete as teams or individuals in any of the inter-school competitions listed on the NSEA website.
. Membership runs from September 1st to August 31st inclusive each year.
. Membership must be renewed before a school may compete in any competition after August 31st each year.
. If an inter-school competition is not listed on the NSEA website, benefits of membership (insurance, qualification etc) do not apply.
. The Head Teacher must agree to allow pupils to represent the school and nominate a Team Manager* (who can be an employee or responsible parent). At the competition, parents/pupils then liaise with the Team Manager.
. All pupils representing a school must be in full time education at that school.
. Any pupil who qualifies for the NSEA Championships in November, who subsequently leaves school, will be allowed to represent their school at the Championships providing the school has renewed its membership. The pupil will then be covered by membership benefits (public/ personal liability insurance cover).
Team Manager
. The Team Manager needs to be nominated by the school. They need to be aware of the NSEA Rules and the specific rules that each competition is being run under. (note : there may be more than one team manager)
. The Team Manager is the school representative on the day. They will need to deal with any queries from their team and liaise with the organisers of the competition.
. The Team Manager ensures that riders from their school display good sportsmanship, horsemanship and equine welfare at all times.
Competitors Code of Conduct
. Competitors need to be aware of, and abide by the rules of competition.
. Competitors need to be correctly turned out, according to the rules.
. Competitors must be aware that they are representing their school at all times. They need to be polite and considerate to all officials and fellow competitors.
. The welfare of their horse/ pony is of paramount importance.
